Reset Spotify Password - Spotify Password Change

1. Got to spotify password reset page

2. If you get redirected to "Edit your Profile", click on your name at the top of the page and select log out.

3. Go back to link and you would be able to reset your password.

3. Return to Reset password and you should be able to request a reset.

Note: If you have a Fa.ce-bo.ok-created account, you should now be able to reset your Spotify password without changing your Fa.ce-bo.ok one.

 

Change Spotify password

  1. Go to the Spotify password change page.
  2. Type your current password in Current password.
  3. Type your new password in New password.
  4. Type your new password in Repeat new password.
  5. Click SET NEW PASSWORD.

Reset Spotify password

  1. Log out of the Spotify app and website.
  2. Go to the reset spotify password page.
  3. Enter your email address or username in Email address or username.
  4. Click SEND.
  5. Check your email inbox for an email from us with the subject “Reset your password”.
  6. Click the link in the e-mail.
  7. Type your new password in New password.
  8. Type your new password again in Repeat new password.
  9. Click SET PASSWORD.

If you’re not receiving the password reset email:

  • Check your junk/spam filter.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address (or username) for your Spotify account.

If the reset link isn’t working:

  • Request a new password reset link and try that one.
  • Open the password reset link in a new web browser, or a private browsing window in your current one.

If you’re having trouble using the new password to log into Spotify, try the steps

Please try it again, following these steps:

  1. Go to password reset
  2. Enter your email address and click SEND.
  3. Go to your email inbox and find an email from us with the subject “Reset your password”.
    Tip: If you don’t see it, check your junk/spam folders, or any other filtered folders (e.g. If you use Gmail, it might be in the Social or Promotions tabs).  
  4. Click the Reset password link in the email. A new web page will open.
  5. Type your new password in both fields and click SEND.
  6. Go back to the app and log in with the email address you used to reset your password and the new password.

No account linked to email address?

If you see the error message "The email address you entered is not connected to a Spotify account", try the above steps again with any other email addresses you have.

Tip: Check your email inboxes for emails from Spotify. If you have any, it’s likely there’s an account associated with that email address.

  • If you don’t have access to an email address associated with your Spotify account, you’re unable to reset the password. However, your account might be connected to Fa.ce-bo.ok, in which case you can just choose LOG IN WITH FA.CE-BO.OK.
  • If the email address associated with your account has been changed without your permission, 

Password reset link invalid?

If you receive the message “password reset link is not valid, or already used” try submitting for a new reset link and, without clicking the link, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your password reset email.
  2. Right-click the Reset password link and select Copy link address.
    Note: If you accidentally click the link before you do this, you’ll have to send for a new one.
  3. Go to your web browser and open a private/incognito window.
  4. Paste the link into the address bar.
  5. Press Enter and continue.

If you notice any of the following occurring on your account unexpectedly, your account may have been taken over.

  • Your password is no longer working.
  • The email address associated with your account has changed.
  • Playlists have disappeared or been added.
  • Subscription changes.
    Note: We never display your full payment information.
  • Someone else's Fa.ce-bo.ok has been connected to your Spotify account.

What do I do if my account has been Hack?


1. FIRST, RESET YOUR PASSWORD.

Note: If your email address has been changed, go straight to step 2.

  1. Open the password reset form in a private/incognito window, and choose a strong password you haven't used before.
  2. Then, go to your account page and click SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE.

We also strongly suggest you change the password for:

  • The email address associated with your Spotify account (e.g. with Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
  • Any Fa.ce-bo.ok profile associated with your Spotify account. You can make sure you're the only one currently logged into your fa.ce-bo.ok, under Security and login > Where You’re Logged In.
  • Any service where you use the same password as Spotify.

2. THEN, GET IN TOUCH WITH US.

  1. Go to our contact form.
  2. Select Logging in.
  3. Choose I can't log in to Spotify
  4. Click I STILL NEED HELP.
